YOU ARE A LEADER. YOU SIMPLY NEED TO DISCOVER THE LEADER WITHIN YOU
Leadership. As we define our legacy, it is critical in our modern world.
The pressures on business are growing. Shareholders demand more. Consumers rightly want higher quality and better value. Technology is changing at an amazing pace.
Leaders have to give a great deal. Sometimes the pressures have tragic consequences. Leaders can lose touch with themselves or with their loved ones. In the most extreme cases, they take their own lives. Tragic.
Often bewildered, both leaders and followers are asking ‘what went wrong?’ or ‘what’s going wrong?’
If you’re a leader in business or manager of a team, I’m sure you sometimes need to draw on all your strength. And if you are in academia you are more than likely wanting to support the leaders and teams that you work with too.
ALLOW YOURSELF A TRANSFORMATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Could it just be that one answer to the strains placed on our western lives is found in indigenous cultures?
I believe so after 20 years of building bridges between Africa and the west.
My connection with Africa has taught me a different way of being. The whole way.
What do I mean by ‘whole’? Using more than the rational head. Drawing also on the heart, spirit and soul. Our head allows us rationalise and to make things happen, our heart allows us to be intuitive. Our spirit is the essence of our being and our soul aligns to our purpose.
I’d like to invite you to discover the whole you. I believe you’ll find it a transformational experience.
You will join me at my Egande retreat (Egande means peace) in West Africa for a life-changing time together.
You will fly to Dakar. We will then jet you in to the airstrip of a small village where you will spend your days with me and a hand-picked team working on Value Based Conscious Leadership and Collaboration. We will tailor-make your experience.
You will begin to discover your own inner values and how you can use all of yourself – head, heart, spirit and soul – in your life as a leader and at home.
TAP IN TO YOUR EMOTIONAL AND CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE
As you spend the week talking with village elders and working the land, your mind will open and you will learn about yourself. Your Emotional Intelligence and Cultural Intelligence will be dynamically enhanced.
And all in a most surprising and unknown location – the fishing village of Abéné in West Africa, a place close to my heart.
Abéné is the last undeveloped coastal village in Senegal. For those of us from the west, it’s a place to step outside our comfort zone and experience a completely different attitude to life – one that I personally have found very enriching.
HOW YOU’LL DISCOVER YOUR INNER VALUES
Here are some of the activities we’ll experience together:
- Engage in exercises to raise awareness of mind and body
- Work with our hand-picked team of executive coaches and teachers
- Talk to village elders and explore how they run the village
- Live off the land, as do the villagers
- Join the men of the village in their daily work – fishing, tilling the land, harvesting
- Work as a team helping to educate the villagers about solar power as part of my Lighting Up Lives project
- Help villagers install solar panels on buildings in the village
- End the week by taking part in a fire ritual and making commitments for the future. We’ll be accompanied by master musicians playing the music of the soul.
Think about how much more you could do if you were using the whole you in your life at work and at home.
Could my Egande retreat help you to enrich yourself as a leader? I’d be happy to talk it over with you.
OTHER WAYS TO WORK WITH ME
Lighting Up Lives
Abéné is the last undeveloped village on the coast of Senegal.
Only 20% of the village has electricity. How can 700 kids learn in a darkened schoolroom?
My dream is to create a stable electricity supply with solar panels and the power of the African sun.
SPEAKING & MORE
Inspiring Heart in Your Workplace
How do you want people to feel when they leave your event?
How about that they’ve freed up their own energy? Found their rhythm, harmony and connection with all in the room.
I’m a speaker who uses more than words. I use breath, space, body and music. And sometimes the odd surprise.
Beat Your Success
Where did you take your team for their last team-building? Up a mountain? To a stylish restaurant?
Next time, allow them to experience the sounds, rhythms and wisdom of Africa through a Sewa Beats workshop. Right there in the conference room – without the expensive plane tickets.
