SOLVING THE BIG QUESTIONS TOGETHER
When I speak at your event, I’ll put the people in the room at the heart of it.
Whether it’s a corporate conference, the opening of an MBA programme or the celebration of a product launch, your audience won’t hear statistics, strategies or numbers.
I’ll inspire them. Literally. They will be involved so they won’t feel like an audience at an event, but rather like members of a big family.
In my speaking, I draw on my whole life.
My travels, which have taken me to 20 countries in Africa alone. The creation of 2 successful brands, Sewa Beats and Do You Speak Djembe?.
My personal journey, starting with the loss of my mother at a relatively young age, and leading me to find purpose in life.
My learnings about connecting people, about listening, about the important of love and passion in what we do. Not only in our personal lives but also at work or at study.
I’ll listen to the people in the room. We’ll work on the big questions they have. Together.
Change management. Inspiration. Collaboration. Managing different cultures. Creativity. Mindfulness. These are all topics that I have spoken on in the past.
I might be accompanied by my African friends playing the djembe or the kora – the music of the soul.
We will use our senses. Close our eyes to find space. Feel rhythm. Just breathe, to allow us to find calm.
We will explore how people can best connect with each other.
SPEAKERS CAN BE LISTENERS TOO
Sometimes it’s good to turn things completely inside out.
Rather than following the agenda of a CEO or a department head, my favourite way of speaking is to adapt my agenda to the people I am talking to.
So I start by asking the audience what they would like the session to be about. What do they want to foster and improve?
I’ve been working this way for many years. People get much more by setting the agenda themselves.
When I receive feedback at the end, I often hear the group members saying that the experience was unique, that they never felt so empowered.
OTHER WAYS TO WORK WITH ME
Transformation For Leaders
Are you a CEO or manager? Then you know you have to continually develop to be the best leader you can be.I would like to welcome you to experience a life-changing moment. Join me at the Egande retreat (Egande means peace) in the village of Abéné in Senegal, West Africa.
Lighting Up Lives
Abéné is the last undeveloped village on the coast of Senegal.
Only 20% of the village has electricity. How can 700 kids learn in a darkened schoolroom?
My dream is to create a stable electricity supply with solar panels and the power of the African sun.
Beat Your Success
Where did you take your team for their last team-building? Up a mountain? To a stylish restaurant?
Next time, allow them to experience the sounds, rhythms and wisdom of Africa through a Sewa Beats workshop. Right there in the conference room – without the expensive plane tickets.
DO YOU SPEAK DJEMBE?
A Happy Marriage of Cultures
Bringing two cultures – or two businesses – together is never easy. But when we embrace differences positively and combine our expertise, we create amazing collaboration.
A Do You Speak Djembe? conference for your organisation can create harmony.
